5. The Board of Supervisors is responsible for confirming or rejecting 
the mayor's nominees to the Municipal Transportation Agency Board of 
Directors.  What criteria would you apply in evaluating those nominees?

6. Did you support Proposition E in November 1999, the Muni Reform 
Charter Amendment?  Why or why not?

7. What does the city's Transit First policy mean to you, and how will 
you seek to implement it?

8. How do you plan to balance the need for transit right-of-way with 
demands for more parking?

9. The Board of Supervisors will have a great deal to say about the 
future of the Transbay Terminal and CalTrain in downtown San Francisco. 
    What are your thoughts on these subjects?

10. The Board of Supervisors sits as the County Transportation 
Authority, which is central to major transit capital projects. What 
criteria will you use when deciding whether to allocate funds to one 
capital
Project or another?

11. Speaking of capital projects, what are your views on the proposed 
Central Subway and the proposed Geary Light Rail projects.

12. The County Transportation Authority is considering the purchase of 
buses that pollute slightly less than modern diesel buses, but which are 
significantly less reliable.  Would you favor the purchase of such 
buses?  How would you balance emissions versus transit reliability?
