* Supervisor Barbara Kaufman introduced a motion to consider all nominees together,
which Rescue Muni opposed (and had no effect under Board rules).

Rescue Muni opposed this list, despite its co-sponsorship of last fall's Proposition E.
Read our press releases (#1 and #2) to understand why.

Supervisors' vote: Contrary to Rescue Muni's recommendation, and despite at least 34 letters submitted in protest,
the Board of Supervisors voted 2/22 to approve all seven nominees.

Press: Read the Chron and Ex for a good summary of the vote, and Matier and Ross for a note on Board member Flynn.
(Note in the Chron article that Joe Blue's Adopt a Muni Committee will be circulating a
charter amendment for an elected board based on these results. Stay tuned...

Previously: The Rules Committee of the Board of Supervisors
did not recommend approval of these nominees. (Ex, Chron.)
Mecklin of SF Weekly mentioned this issue (with a bit of satire).
The Guardian agreed with us (even though they opposed Prop E).
Also read recent reports in the Chron and Ex, and a letter to the Ex.
The Chron's Ken Garcia also thought this board should be bounced.

Cartoons: Read Puni from 2/16 and 2/9 for another view on the MTA Board issue.
Also the Chron's Farley has its take..
